SHABBAT SHALOM BIENVENUE WELCOME

YOUTH SERVICE

Our next Youth Service will be Shabbat/Chanukah morning, December 12. On that morning our Shabbat service will be led entirely by our youth. This wonderful program, organized by Rabbi Alex, is one of the highlights of our calendar. The entire community is invited to attend and "Shep Nachas" from our children. Yasher Koach to Rabbi Alex on a wonderful job coordinating this important event. We are always looking for more young people, especially boys who recently celebrated their Bar Mitzvah, to participate.

NEW BNEI MITZVAH GROUP

WITH GREAT SUCCESS, and seventeen participant families, we have begun a creative new venture for Bnei Mitzvah and their parents to make this milestone more meaningful. At each monthly session parents are expected to participate with their children. Sessions will be facilitated by Rabbi Michael Whitman, Assistant Rabbi Alex Zwiebel, Shawn Bramson, and Avi Gorin. Please contact Rabbi Whitman for more information.
THE NEXT SESSION is a very special opportunity. It is vey likely that, sometime in their future, our children will have to deal with a friend or family member with Alzheimer's. On Sunday, December 13 at noon - which is the second day of Chanukah - we will meet at Alzheimer Groupe Inc. (AGI), on Westminster in CSL. Our young people will have lunch while they get a professional introduction to this disease and how to relate positively to those who have it. We will then have a chance for clients of AGI to come and work together with our young people on an active Chanukah project, using the skills they have just learned. Meanwhile, parents will have a separate session just for them. This is an opportunity for our young people to learn a skill they can use throughout their lives, and have fun and a sense of accomplishment while doing it.

We are in need of a professional who can help the Adath make our communications more effective. We want to make sure our announcements, emails, and bulletins are getting the word out about all our wonderful events and activities. If you know someone with an expertise in marketing and/or communications who would be willing to help the Adath, please let Rabbi Whitman know.
